Abstract
Image fusion is a process to integrate complementary information from multiple images of the same scene such that the fused image contains a more accurate description of the scene than any of the individual source images. In this paper we present a new feature level fusion algorithm for multifocus color images. First, the intensity components of the source images are separated in Intensity- Hue-Saturation space. Then the components are decomposed by the redundant wavelet transform to build a decision map using the extracted subpixel edge features. Finally, the fused image is obtained according to the map in spatial domain. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve good results.
