In order to realize the lightweight of car door, central composite design of experiment method is taken to design sample for 43 times. Fitting approximate models of response surfaces with Kriging model are inducted in torsion stiffness and strength optimization of car door. Sequential quadratic programming optimization methodology is used to optimize approximate models. Optimized plan of changing the thicknesses of inner panel and window frame mainly is confirmed. As mass decreasing by 1.2 %, torsion stiffness increases by 10.7% and strength increases by 9.8%. The thicknesses of some parts are configured reasonably.
