Abstract
Based on the 3-D visualization technique, by adjusting the attribute value, color, transparency of seismic data, the energy segments of the 3-D seismic volume could be displayed three-dimensionally, which supplied the deficiency of the conventional interpretation which couldn´t display the shape of the geologic bodies. In this paper, the principle and operation flows of the 3-D visualization technique were presented and its practical application in the seismic interpretation of an oil field was studied. Therefore, by using the 3-D visualization technique, the small faults of this area could be identified correctly and the development of sandstone bodies could be predicted, which could serve as some scientific basis for drilling deployment.
