Basic ideas and computing frameworks of CO (Collaborative Optimization) which is applied to complex system design are introduced. Reliability theory is introduced into CO, and reliability restraint is applied to optimization design. Within the optimization of systematic level of Collaborative Optimization, the slack variable is introduced to let the restraint of consistency equality be transformed to the restraint of non-equality, and makes easily the algorithm convergent. This method realized the parallel reliability based optimization design of the wheel hub reducer of ADT (Articulated Dump Truck), and the results of the optimization were applied to the practical project.
