Dose calculation of the brachytherapy source was studied. According to the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) TG-43 and TG-43U1 protocols, the dose rate of single 125I and 103Pd sources were calculated. The dose rate of multiple sources was calculated with the linear superposition method. With inclusion of time, the calculation method of absorbed dose was developed. The dose rate of single model 6711 and 6702 125I and model 200 103Pd sources were calculated with varied distances and angles. The absorbed dose of model 200 103Pd sources was also calculated. The calculation results are obtained in an ideal situation, and have some instructional significance for the clinical application. The study results could be used in clinical trials and can be further improved based on feedback opinions.
