Abstract
Wind turbine generator (WTG) system is a complex system involving continuous subsystem and discrete subsystem. A fact was discovered that WTG showed the typical feature of hybrid system by analyzing its characteristics. Therefore, the hybrid dynamic model of 1.5MW Doubly-fed WTG was built based on theory of hybrid automata, at same time hybrid control system was designed for solving the problem of the global automation according to the WTG control strategy. Emulation results present the hybrid automata model can accomplish the global simulation of WTG, and the designed hybrid control system fulfills the demand of global control. Moreover, the validity and practicability of applying hybrid system theory in the field of wind power are demonstrated.
