    The papers discuss the temperature field calculation for solidification process of casting which based on cut cell. It deals with latent heat of solidification process with temperature recovery method. The temperature field of the dumbbell casting was calculated based on cut cell and zigzag mesh, the results show the calculation precision with cut cell is higher than zigzag mesh at the same grid size. But the calculations results tend to be identical when the mesh size is sufficiently small.
