  • Abstract
A method is presented for the measurement of shielding effectiveness of any structure or material with conducting surfaces. The method is based on principle of reverberation chamber measurements evolved into dual Vibrating Intrinsic Reverberation Chamber. The method has the advantage over conventional methods in that the fields are incident on device under test with various polarizations and angles of incidence. When compared with other reverberation chamber techniques, the new method is much more effective in mode stirring and is relatively easy to apply. In the prototype system, a dynamic range of up to 80 dB has been achieved over a frequency range of 1-18 GHz without using an amplifier. A few examples are presented to illustrate the utility of the new approach. Comparison of results with IEEE 299 method is given.
