  • Abstract
    A compact MIMO antenna using a UC-EBG structure as reflector applied in IMT-advanced is proposed. It consists of 3×2 CPW-fed CPS dipoles. We conducted the antenna array in terms of active impedance, and test many parameters of the antenna. Unlike the conventional reflector, the distance between the radiating patch and reflector is 1cm, which is much shorter than λ/4. It can decrease the bulk of the antenna array, and the mutual coupling between adjacent elements also decreased. In addition, the gain and directivity of the antenna array was increased.
