Abstract
We report on an all-optical spectrum defragmentation technique using an optoelectronic broad-band wavelength converter. The defragmentation of a 50-GHz wavelength slot is shown in a ROADM at half-distance transmission of up to 9 DP-16QAM 28 GBd channels over six spans of 80-km length single mode fiber. all-optical broad-band wavelength converter
