Abstract
The article concerns investigation and use of convolutional coding for fixed envelopes in the data transmission system based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexed channels. It is shown that the noise at the output of phase demodulator (in OFDM receiver) with high signal/noise ratio and relatively low rates of modulation can be represented as Gaussian noise. This allows using conventional metrics in Viterbi´s decoding algorithm.
