Abstract :
The handheld portable satellite phones, semi-fixed satellite payphones and remote offices including Satellite Broadband, Satellite Asset Tracking and Fleet Management (SATFM), Satellite Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) or Machine-to-Machine (M2M) monitoring, control, command and logistics system are a very new communications tools available for business people, all professionals in transportation, oil/gas and remote environments and everyone who likes to have satellite messaging or telephone access using Little or Big LEO satellite systems at sea, on the land and in the air. Otherwise, the different nomenclature of LEO satellites is usually known as Non-GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbits) satellites. Compared to the Little LEO systems, the bigger size of the Big LEO system enables more complex data processing in the LEO communication satellite than the simple non-voice store-and-forward feature of SATFM in the Little LEO systems. The Big LEO Mobile Satellite Systems (MSS) provide a wide variety of services, such as voice, data and Fax, Internet, SMS and paging, search and rescue, disaster services, environmental and industrial monitoring, cargo tracking and location, position determination, etc.
