  • Abstract
On the examples from the national history it has been shown that the underestimation of the role of radio in Army in 1905 by tsar government had led to the tragedy of Tsushima and, ultimately, to the defeat of Russia in Russian-Japanese war. The political leadership of Stalin of USSR did not make the correct conclusions from that lesson. In summer of 1941 the lack of radio communication in units of Red Army did not allow the effective management of Soviet troops from Moscow and coordination of their combat operations and creation of stable defense. As a result, in November 1941 our human losses reached catastrophic proportions, huge territories to the west of Volga were captured by the enemy.
