  • Abstract
    A new diamond fast motion estimation algorithm diamond for H.264 was proposed. The algorithm uses the adjacent macro block motion vectors in the spatial correlation of the neighboring macroblocks motion vectors to predict, cross template search step size can be acquired, and lots of calculation of the large diamond-shaped template (LDSP) will be reduced. Experimental results show that the calculation of the improved algorithm diamond algorithm is less than the original of 46%, and the encoding speed is also improved, when the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) is conformity with the diamond search algorithm.
