  • Abstract
    Based on UPnP protocol, this paper proposes the design and implementation of a multimedia server based on UPnP which acts as a downloading server, an UPnP AV MediaServer and a streaming server. It provides a solution to build a system for media entertainment inside or outside home. As a downloading server, it is applied to download resources from the internet. As an UPnP AV MediaServer, it offer media service for media render device. As a streaming server, it allows users to browse media resource outside home.
