Abstract
To reduce negative influence of topology change on performance of Ad hoc network and decrease broadcasting overhead in the network, an MAC Relay On-demand Routing Protocol (MRODRP) was presented. It can rapidly access neighbor information within two hops utilizing neighbors´ information among nodes, so that MAC may select next hop forwarding node based on neighbor states. Meanwhile, MAC controlled broadcasting scope of routing request packet to be sent, so as to reduce broadcasting overhead of the network. Performance analyzing and simulation results show that the MRODRP reduces overhead while improve efficiency and promote protocol performance compared with AODV.
