  • Abstract
Titanium alloy with Hydroxyapatite (HA) coating is proved to have the characteristics of both bio-compatibility and mechanical strength, and is a promising material for medical implants. In this study, three layers of different HA and pure Ti mixture were coated on Titanium alloy to make a functionally graded composite material by the method of laser cladding. The material properties of the coated composite were investigated and the effect of processing conditions on microstructure and stabilization of the coatings were generalized.
