  • Abstract
    QFD (quality function deployment) converts customer\´s requirement to design request and meet the customer\´s original needs. Theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ for short) can provide solutions to product conceptual design problems. While QFD ask "what to do", TRIZ indicated "how to do". Combination of the two methods will improve the ability to analyze the customer\´s needs and increase the product creativity. This paper applied the AHP method to the QFD weighting factors. The TRIZ conflict matrix and the separation principles are incorporated with the house of quality to explicit design conflicts and preferences. Three conceptual design models of the electrical water heater are talked about in detail to explicit the above mentioned design methodologies.
