The Effect of User-Centered Principles on Industrial Product Design

This paper is aimed at giving rise to the industrial designers to pay more attention to the design principles of `User-Centered´ during their product design. In the paper, mainly analyzed some products those used in every day life of people. The way of study is to analyze some problems in the products design by the examples of the products which are being applied in every day life, but there are some defects. The analyses mainly concerns about three sides of the problems about product design in industrial design. One is about how to apply the knowledge of ergonomics to practical product design correctly, the other one is to promote the understanding of designers to the importance of `User-Centered´, adequately during their product design, and another one is how to perfect the product designed before they are put into the markets. Gives some analyses of the reasons for forming the problems in product design. The reasons for bringing the problems of the products are that some industrial designers had not dealt with the relationship between the design style and the use function of the products well in product design, some designers have not realized the design principle of `User-Centered´ and some industrial designers are lake of the knowledge of science and engineering. Provides some suggestions about how to solve the problems. The industrial designers will benefit by that have been done from the paper.
