Abstract
The effects differ when biomass with different physical characteristics were compressed. This paper shows the tests of the compression of straws with different water contents and different granularities, and draws to the conclusion. The results from the analysis reveal that there are three phases of the compression trends, which are the loose phase, the transitory phase and the compact phase. In each of the three phases, the relationship between deformation and pressure is different, and the effects of water contents and granularities on the distortion of compression are different. Using the formula of molding density, the results show close connections of molding density with those factors such as types of raw materials, density of them, water contents of them, molding pressure and the heating temperature.
