  • Abstract
With the rapid development of the Internet, web-based learning systems (WBLS) become more popular for self-learning and long-distance learning. According to the drawbacks of the existing WBLS for Pro/Engineer course, a new framework approach is presented for design and development of an interactive multimedia web-based learning system (IMWBLS) for Pro/Engineer training. It develops an effective and customized web-based learning system for Pro/Engineer basic design course by using popular software tools. The proposed IMWBLS presents rich contents of the course. It uses MS agent technology and Captivate software to realize speech function and interactive video function. With the adaptive learning guidance, it adapts the presentation of Pro/Engineer educational material according to students´ weaknesses. IMWBLS not only realizes personalized teaching but also increases the students´ attention and promotes the interaction between teaching and learning.
