Abstract

In order to solve urban traffic congestion and pollution problems, this essay provides developing strategies of urban public transportation system. Based on the analysis of the urban transportation problems, this essay puts forward the proposal of developing the ground Bus Rapid Transportation system first. And this is demonstrated from road spaces, bus stations and hubs, vehicles, routes, fees, operation safeguards system and other aspects. On this basis, it proposes function positioning and developing strategies of BRT system, and points out that different cities should make the choice according to their personal circumstances.
