Abstract
As companies begin to compete in the challenging business environment, case and industry studies have increased our understanding of time-based competition and focused our attention on its key technical practices, such as time-based manufacturing. While the specialized literature concerning the technical aspects of time-based manufacturing expands, there is a gap in the literature: integrated approaches between human resource dimensions and time-based manufacturing practices. This paper deals with the main contributions of human resource dimensions for the time-based manufacturing in firms. Based on the literature review, this paper discusses the contributions of human resource dimensions to the effectiveness of the time-based manufacturing. A model that analyses the relationships between these dimensions and time-based manufacturing in presented, within a perspective of application for academicians and managers.
