The method of Su-field analysis was briefly analyzed and described. In this method, there are some deficiencies in the field of functional modeling. Based on the analysis, we presented a kind of modeling method to achieve product innovation, which combined the method of the operating subtraction and FAST procedure. The proposed method improved the application process of 76 standard solutions, and effectively reduced the time of user and the wrong solutions in the application of the irrelevant standard solutions. The research method has been used to analyze a new compound hydrocyclone. The main reasons of the existing of the deterioration characteristics of the cyclone were found, and the feasible solution was proposed. The method can provide a feasible developing direction for the effective application of the standard solutions.
