Abstract :
High Temperature Air Combustion is an advanced technology to realize the largest waste heat recovery and extremely low NO emission. Numerical simulation of High Temperature Air Combustion of natural gas was performed for furnace with a swirling burner. The results showed NO emission was much lower when a swirling burner was used. Results demonstrated that swirling burner could enhance the flue gas recirculation in the furnace which promoted the mix of fuel, fresh air and hot flue gas, leading to a more uniform temperature and lower oxygen concentration in most of the furnace space. The high-temperature and oxygen-rich area decrease d sharply as the swirling angle increased. Compared to Out-furnace flue gas recirculation and increasing inlet jet velocity, swirling burner is a good technology to control NO emission for HTAC.
