Abstract :
In the setting of a large-size arch steel tube structure project in a city of Zhejiang province, this paper gives a general introduction to the project and to steel tube appearance inspection. This paper is an elaboration on practical inspection method, process and evaluation standard. This paper gives a basic presentation of inspection results of the three major factors in structural elements (appearance quality, component material strength and modal parameters). Analysis illustrates that despite the relatively low loading action of the controlled section of the structure compared with structural resistant action, the normal section strength still satisfies requirement of bearing capacity limit. As the structure has obvious defects, overall service and enforcement should be performed.
