Abstract :
Based on the analysis of present research data of shallow tunneling, it was found that soil loss rate had different trends with the increasing of soil depth. The settlement formulas of deep soil of oval convergent model caused by shallow tunneling were deduced. Using stochastic medium theory to calculate practical cases, it was proved that with the increasing of soil depth, soil loss rate was not just remain the same, but had different trends. The conditions that soil loss rate increased with the depth and soil loss rate decreased with the depth were analyzed, and the rules of deep soil settlement were summarized. The results showed that the rules of them were similar. With the increasing of soil depth, the settlement of soil close to the tunnel axis increase. With the decreasing of soil depth, the settlement of soil close to the tunnel axis decrease. But compared with the former condition, the change was slow and the influence was less.
