  • Abstract
    To study the reasonable external shading forms of residential building, firstly, this paper take a typical room for example, based on the orthogonal test method calculated the indoor lighting level and indoor solar heat gain under various combinations conditions; Thirdly, through the orthogonal test method identified the various factors´ influence degree on the indoor lighting level and indoor solar heat gain, such as shade form, window-to-wall ratio, rooms toward and so on. And when we consider use the external shading in Chongqing, should take reduce indoor heat gain effectively as the main factor. Then under the fixed window-to-wall ratio, get the most significant shading way is blind shutter (135 degrees to open), followed by the horizontal sunshading board, and the vertical shading´ effect is not obvious, so suggested that the outside window shading should give priority to the movable external sunshade.
