Abstract :
ASF is widely used in the distance learning area as a streaming media format. Each ASF file is composed of header object; data object and index. The header object of ASF format is lucubrated in this paper. On the basis of researching result, the solution to ASF format streaming media synchronization is proposed and is realized in the platform of network courseware development. The solution includes mainly two steps: firstly, the format needs to be modified by adding some control information and time break information inside the ASF file; secondly, the script language such as JavaScript is used to control multimedia synchronization.
