Abstract :
A novel disc permanent magnetic synchronous wheel motor used in electric vehicle is introduced in this paper. The motor is considered an ideal device to drive electric vehicle directly because of its merit of small volume, light in weight, low loss and high power density. The basic structure of the wheel motor is presented in this paper. A 2500W motor is designed. The physical model is set. The load magnetic field is calculated by FEM. The correlation questions of motor design are discussed on the strength of load magnetic field analysis, in order to find the proper control method of the wheel motor.
