Abstract
This paper presents a new method of magnetic field analysis in three-phase induction motor cores taking account of 2-D vector magnetic properties of electrical steel sheet. An improved magnetic property model is proposed, in which the reluctivity and hysteresis coefficients are calculated using Fourier series expansion of measured B and H waveforms. The finite element formulation combined with the proposed magnetic property model is derived. Both the effects of alternating and rotating magnetization in induction motor cores are considered and local magnetic characteristic of motor core is studied.
