Abstract
As an enabling technology of Web 3.0, semantic web (SW) can be applied to define military knowledge in a machine-understandable and process-effective way, by which better military decision support (MDS) will be achievable. In this paper, SW´s core technologies are introduced with abilities analyzed. Based on it, SW´s MDS applications are summarized in 3 main fields: cooperative command and control, situation awareness, and military knowledge base, each with SW´s capability analyzed and representative researches introduced. Furthermore, our perspectives on future research are given as a suggestion.
