Abstract :
A technique for characterization of smoke particles is described. The technique was established through measurements using a polarization modulated angular scanning scatterometer to completely characterize the intensity and polarization of the scattered light. The physical and optical properties of the particles were extracted from the measured data by combining light scattering modeling. Preliminary results with water droplets and soot aggregates were presented.
