Abstract :
The effective control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) requires reliable rotor-position information. In order to resolve the disadvantages for using mechanical sensors, sensorless control techniques for estimating rotor position have become a research hotspot in recent years. This paper studies the sensorless control technology based on the vector control principle and mathematical model of PMSM. Two sensorless control methods of estimating the rotor speed and position, Motor Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) method and Siding Mode Observer (SMO) method are studied. Taking the surface permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) as example, modeling and simulation are performed by using MATLAB/SEVIULINK.
