  • Abstract
In this paper, a new optimization method was used to improve the performance of the long linear motor in Germany TR08 maglev trains. The method analyzed the influence of the dimensions on the performances systematically by time stepping finite element method (FEM). And a series of the quasi-optimized design criteria were also obtained, which were proved to improve some characters of the motor under different load conditions. Based on the FEM results, the fitting formula and particle swarm optimization were used to optimize the dimensions of the long stator linear motor. The results show that the efficiency of the motor was increased 4% and the power factor was increased 0.3%.
