Abstract :
Magnet shape is very essential for the performance of electrical machines, because it is directly related to their static characteristics. This paper performs analytical prediction for the magnetic field distribution of a slotless-type synchronous machine with bread shape permanent magnets. In order to analyze the magnetic field distribution, multi-layer analysis method is employed. Furthermore, the model simulated by Maxwell 2D based on the finite element method is also introduced to verify the validity of analytical results.
