Abstract
Recently, fuel cells prevail around the world. A fuel cell emulator is needed when we design a power converter system including fuel cells. A new emulator which consist of two types of electrical circuits, a software controlled power source based on a Model A and a hardware circuit based on a Model B, is studied in this paper. The Model A emulates the steady-state characteristics and the Model B emulates the frequency characteristics of the internal impedance of the fuel cell. This paper proposes the constructive method of the two models. In addition, the output voltage waveforms of the real fuel cell and the proposed system when the power converter is connected and operated are observed and compared.
