Abstract :
This paper deals with the analysis on the performance of Current transformer(CT) for low power measurement system. In general CT´s cases, the exciting current due to core loss current and magnetizing current does not largely affect on the conversion efficiency between primary and secondary. However, for the CT to measure low current, the prediction and compensation of the exciting current are very essential. In this paper, the exciting current and the impedance of series equivalent circuit are calculated using the open circuit and the closed circuit simulation by finite element analysis (FEA), respectively. Using the derived electrical parameters, the performance of CT for standby power measurement system is analyzed.
