Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to report the results of a survey and comparative analysis on the Basic Course education in China. Based on C.G. Boucharenc´s international survey, this paper offered a systemic survey and analysis following aspects of “General organization of the Basic Course”, “Objectives of the Basic Course”, and “Pedagogical approach and the essential themes of the Basic Course”, and made the contrastive analysis with Boucharenc´s data. It puts forward that China´s Basic Course education focuses on two-and three-dimensional teaching exercises, and both teaching means and applications of new theory are not good enough. These results are useful for determining the status of Basic Course education in China.
