Abstract :
This paper talks about the implemeutation of the mechanical-servo simulation approach for realistic modeling of the HDD track-following operation. This method is developed to provide a more quantitative analyses of evaluating the effectiveness of new HDD designs and modifications. To leverage on the world-wide internet connections, we have also implemented a web-based simulation platform, so that researchers around the world can have access to the simulation tool.
