Abstract :
Traditional portable maintenance aid (PMA) needs a significant amount of storage memory for storing electronic manual and maintenance information, so it has characters of big size and high power consumption. In order to overcome these shortcomings, a wireless portable maintenance aid (W-PMA) is designed in this paper, based on wireless network and embedded system. W-PMA integrates functions as interactive IETM query, video and audio information sampling, fault analyzing, maintenance information downloading and repair record uploading. W-PMA could resolve the low quality and inefficiency problems in large aircraft maintenance, promote the development of maintenance industry, and improve the security of aviation.
