  • Abstract
    In this paper exact closed-form expressions are derived for the outage probability (OP) in scenarios where the signal of interest (SoI) experiences η-μ or κ-μ fading, the interfering signals are subject to η-μ fading and the background noise can be neglected. With the only assumption that the μ parameter is a positive integer number for the interfering signals, the derived expressions when the SoI is either η-μ or κ-μ distributed are given in elementary terms for maximal ratio combining (MRC) with independent branches. If the pre-combining SoI power signals are η-μ distributed with their corresponding μ parameters being positive integer or half-integer numbers, the previous analysis is extended for spatially correlated MRC at the receiver.
