Abstract
Based on the main hazardous pollution factors remained in reclaimed water, i.e. chemicals and pathogens, and their potential hazards to human health and ecological safety were analyzed according to the different usages of reclaimed water, a new index system including hygienic, toxicological, nutrient, integrated indices was proposed to evaluate the water quality of reclaimed water. However, these indices are proposed as a new concept in developing water quality criteria although they are still difficult to implement at present.
