  • Abstract
ANSYS has powerful programmable capabilities, of which APDL is widely used because of its easiness, while UPFs is not so popular for its fairly difficulty and lack of reference data. However, UPFs has more advantages than APDL in such aspects as large data treatment, user-define materials, user-define failure criteria, user-define elements, linkage to ANSYS program, etc.. The linear viscous-elastic material construction is programmed with UPFs in this paper, and its validity is verified by examples and analytical solution. The verifying shows that the material behavior development with UPFs in this paper is successful, and the programming methods and experiences may be helpful for other fellows.
