Abstract
This paper proposes a new maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm for PMSG (permanent magnet synchronous generator) wind turbine systems, which gives a fast and effective tracking performance. For torque control, the torque reference consists of two parts, in which one is made from the rotor speed and the other comes from the system inertia. The PSIM simulation results for a 2[MW] PMSG wind turbine system have proved the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
