  • Abstract
    It has been found by scanning electronic microscopic (SEM) that the dissimilar welding joint between steel type 22SiMn2TiB and type TWE312 welding rod is composed by austenite and ferrite, and in which austenite is the majority. Ultrasonic testing has been selected to inspect the inner-defects of the joints. The probe type, K value, frequency, dimension of wafer and front distance of the ultrasonic probe have been designed by calculation and experiments, as a result, the probe of 2.5P13×13K1.5 has been obtained. The validation experiments of the probe 2.5P13×13K1.5 have been carried out on the pre-prepared defects joints, and the results indicate that the probe can effectively inspect the inner-defects of the joints and is suitable for the ultrasonic inspection of the austenitic dissimilar welding joints of the steel type 22SiMn2TiB.
