Abstract :
Shrink flanging is a main fashion in rubber forming, which is a very important manufacture method in aircraft fabrication. Spring back of the part during unloading largely determines whether the part conforms to the die design dimensions and tolerances. A typical shrink flanging part is used to analyze the spring back control method. The finite element model is set to simulate the forming process. It is found that the simulation results agree well with the experiment. Die compensation is done based on the simulation and experiment. The part accuracy using die compensation after spring back reaches the tolerance acquirement. As for the jogged flange of the shrink flange, adopting the hard rubber and larger pressure can avoid wrinkling.
