Abstract :
A generalized heat transition matrix (GHTM) based on boundary element method (BEM) is presented to solve multiple domain electro-thermal co-analysis problems. The essential of this approach is to extract the electric and heat characteristics of a complex structure comprising several sub-regions to the system´s boundary. Since the distribution of electromagnetic field and internal current are entirely determined by the excitations on the boundary, the heat generation rate over the interior region can be calculated through the boundary conditions, making the module a real boundary model. This black box manner is suitable for complex system´s multi-field computation. Two examples, which concentrate on system´s heat performance caused by electrical current or electromagnetic environment, are worked out to verify the effectiveness of GHTM.
