Abstract :
A compact ultra wideband (UWB) diversity antenna for mobile phone applications is proposed. It consists of two folded monopoles, suspended line, and T-shape branch line. For a wideband operation, the folded type monopole antennas are used. In addition, for a high isolation and a wide isolation bandwidth, the proximity coupled suspended line in conjunction with the T-shape branch line is proposed. The measured impedance bandwidth (VSWR<;2) is 7.5 GHz (3.1 GHz ~ 10.6 GHz), and the measured isolation is more than 17 dB for the entire operating frequency range.
