Abstract
This paper reports a study on the influence of the phase noise on a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) channel sounding. The channel sounder is designed for the analysis of the propagation channel at 11.0 GHz with a band-width of 400 MHz. It is expected that phase noise in such a high frequency and wide band-width affect the performance of the propagation channel analysis. The simulation results however suggest that the estimated parameters of the propagation channel are not significantly affected by the phase noise.
